Terms of use
Last updated
These are the terms on which you may use Lentopay. Using the app means you accept them.
Who may use Lentopay
You must be 18 or over, resident in Nigeria, and using the account for yourself. One person, one account. You may not use Lentopay on someone else's behalf without telling us.
Verifying who you are
Nigerian anti-money-laundering regulation requires us to know who our customers are. Until you verify your Bank Verification Number your account cannot move money. Verification raises your daily limit; a further identity check raises it again. We may ask for more information at any time, and we may refuse or close an account where we cannot satisfy ourselves about it.
Your money
Balances held with Lentopay are recorded in a double-entry ledger and set against what we hold, asset by asset. We publish that comparison, and the app lets you check that your own balance was counted in it. Naira balances are not a bank deposit and are not insured by the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.
Digital assets
The value of bitcoin and other digital assets can fall as well as rise, quickly and without warning. You can lose money. Only commit what you can afford to lose. We do not give investment advice, and nothing in the app is a recommendation to buy or sell anything. Prices shown are quotes valid for the seconds stated; the rate you receive is the rate you confirm.
Savings
Savings products lock naira for a fixed term at a stated rate. Returns are not guaranteed and are subject to product approval. Ending a plan early returns your funds with the interest earned to that point.
Keeping your account safe
Your password, transaction PIN, device passcode and two-factor codes are yours to protect. Do not share them; nobody at Lentopay will ever ask you for them. Tell us immediately if you think somebody else has reached your account — you can freeze it yourself from Settings without waiting for us. You are responsible for instructions given with your credentials before you tell us.
What you may not do
- Use Lentopay for anything unlawful, including money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud, or evading sanctions.
- Move money for somebody else in a way designed to hide where it came from.
- Create accounts to farm invitation rewards, or claim a reward for inviting yourself.
- Attempt to interfere with the service or reach data that is not yours.
We may freeze or close an account that does any of these, and we report what the law requires us to report.
Fees
Sending money to another Lentopay account is free. Withdrawals to a bank account carry the fee shown on the withdrawal screen before you confirm. Trading spreads are shown in the quote. We will tell you in the app before any fee changes.
Closing your account
You may close your account at any time from Settings, once your balances are zero. We may close an account by giving you notice, or immediately where the law or a regulator requires it. Closure does not end obligations that already exist, and we keep records for the period the law requires.
When things go wrong
Raise a dispute in the app under Help. We investigate transactions you tell us you did not authorise. Where a payment fails or is returned, the funds go back to your Lentopay balance.
Our liability
We provide the service with reasonable care and skill. We are not liable for losses arising from the movement of digital asset prices, from instructions given with your own credentials before you told us they were compromised, or from events outside our reasonable control. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
